Tosha Jackson is pleased to announce the completion of her new TYPO truck mobile boutique that features her personalized word art creations. The truck, or 1982 Chevy P20 StepVan to be more specific, came from a “hare-brained idea” to follow in the footsteps of the food truck and fashion truck industry. Mobile retail is a growing trend across the nation and just a few of these trucks exist in her area (the Kansas City metro). To her knowledge, no other mobile boutique in the nation features similar personalized artwork.
“When I started TYPOGRFX in 2008, there was nothing else like it in the marketplace. Since then I’ve made thousands of pieces for customers all over the US – with most of my sales through my website. But I felt this desire to connect with the public more – to create a unique shopping experience – where they can see the beautiful quality of the art firsthand and interact with me and ask questions,” Jackson states.
The truck is filled with samples of the artwork in a living room type setting, complete with a couch, bookcase, tables, lamps and even faux pallet walls. The artwork features a signature design made up of words, colors and style chosen by the customer, and each is designed from scratch by Jackson. The products are printed on a variety of media – lustre, wood, burlap, and metal prints as well as gallery-wrapped canvases and keepsake blankets – all manufactured in the United States – and all on display in the truck. Prices range from $35 to $225 and up for custom pieces, while cash-n-carry items start at just $4.
